Daily Quest Post

Doug commented on one of my posts….

“Daily quests are your best friend. They really help out with expenses.”

These two sentences have me researching the internet like mad. This isn’t the first time that I have heard players mention the importance of daily questing, but until now, it was in one ear and out the other. I am going to try to figure out every daily quest and start doing the ones that I can.
I should also note that a new area called Sunwell Isle is coming to WoW in the near future boasting new daily quests. Allegedly the daily quests one can turn in will rise from 10 to 25. I will try to provide info regarding these quests here as well.

THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED EVERY TIME THAT I FINISH A NEW DAILY QUEST FOR THE FIRST TIME!

First daily: (the only one I have completed to date)

Quest: Fires over Skettis
Location: Skettis in Terokkar Forrest
Rewards: 11G 99S Rep: Sha'tari Skyguard 350 points

This is a fun quest. You will have to finish two quests before you are offered this daily. Make sure you complete Threat from Above and To Skettis first. To do this quest use your flying mount to look for egg clusters found on tree platforms. You will be given Skyguard Blasting Charges to simply throw down onto the eggs, blowing them up. So? How hard could this be? One problem… the Monstrous Kaliri don’t seem to appreciate people making omelets out of their un-hatched young. These birds will attempt to knock you off your mount so that you fall to your death! To avoid unwanted repair bill I simply align myself near the base of the trees, just above the platforms, so that if I do get knocked off I will land safely. You will need to blast 20 eggs before returning to Sky Sergeant Doryn for your reward.

Armor Set: Shadow's Embrace

I have been looking forward to making this set of epic armor ever since The Burning Crusade introduced it as patterns for tailoring. The set WILL NOT be easy to craft because of the list of components needed but I have decided to start gathering anyway. This set would upgrade my stats dramatically.

***Here are the materials needed to make the set***

Armor Set: Shadow’s Embrace

Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders
Shadowcloth 4X
Primal Shadow 4X
Primal Fire 4X
Arcane Dust 8X
Netherweave Cloth 72X
Primal Water 10X
Netherweave Spider Silk 2X

Frozen Shadoweave Boots
Shadowcloth 8X
Primal Shadow 8X
Primal Fire 8X
Arcane Dust 16X
Netherweave Cloth 144X
Primal Water 12X
Netherweave Spider Silk 2X

Frozen Shadoweave Robe
Shadowcloth 14X
Primal Shadow 14X
Primal Fire 14X
Arcane Dust 28X
Netherweave Cloth 252X
Primal Water 16X
Netherweave Spider Silk 4X

***Total Components***

Primal Shadow (260 Motes)
Primal Fire (260 Motes)
Arcane Dust 52X
Netherweave Cloth 468X
Primal Water (380 Motes)
Spider Silk 8X

Let the gathering begin!!!! (Should only take me about 3 years, lol)

Questing in Netherstorm

Last night one of my closest real life friends Abrean and I decided that we should work on some quests together. We completed a chain quest in Netherstorm called The Archmage’s Staff. I am amazed by the gold payout for questing at level 70! Each of us made over 100g and the quest chain only took us about an hour.

I would like to make a game suggestion however. I propose the idea of offline visibility for quests on our friend’s lists. Let me try to explain. Abrean and I like questing together. I would like to see her quests even when she is logged out so that I can get the same ones, or more importantly, wait to finish the quests we have together when she gets on. Perhaps the armory could “show quests” or something? Just thinking out load I guess =).

Goal Complete!

I managed to find enough nodes this weekend to level mining from 250 to 300 and I had fun doing it. I started in Burning Steppes and Un’Goro Crater where I located enough small thorium to level to 275. Eastern and Western Plaguelands provided enough rich thorium to skill me the rest of the way to 300. Now I am excited to start mining the outlands using my flying mount. I hope that I will be able to make good money with mining in the future.

Other good times this weekend included running my youngest son (22 gnome warlock) through Wailing Caverns. Although the dungeon was very easy at my level I had never been to Wailing Caverns before so we had a great time. With the help of some friends in the guild we also helped my oldest son (63 night elf hunter) make his way through The Blood Furnace for the first time. Great weekend!

Much To Do!

1. Mining
Already mining has become a profitable profession for me. On Shandris (my realm) I found that stacks of 20 mithril bars sell for 12g at the auction house. I managed to gather 100 bars by simply leveling up the skill. I am now able to mine thorium and although I haven’t checked the AH for pricing I would imagine that it will sell for a good sum. My goal is to level mining to 300 this weekend so that I can begin looking for ore in the outlands. I have been leveling this skill very fast due to having an epic mount. I could not imagine the time this would take without one.

2. Karazhan: First Key Fragment
This will be a tough goal for me. I am a shadow priest and I don’t have gear for healing. Finding a pick up group (PUG) as a shadow priest can be very difficult. In order to get my first key fragment I must make it all the way to the last boss (Murmur) inside of 5 man instanced dungeon called Shadow Labyrinth. Healers and tanks (protection warriors / paladins / druids) are often very hard to find when looking for a PUG. I have tried Shadow Labyrinth only once with a PUG and they convinced me to try healing. Our tank in this group was a feral druid and he had a very hard time holding agro. Due to our substandard healing and tanking we wiped several times before calling it quits. My guild told me that they would let me join them next time they went so I am really looking forward to that! The guild that I am in is full of very nice people. I will update this blog when I get the fragment, should be exciting.

3. Heroic 5 Man Dungeons
I have never been to a heroic dungeon before. In order to get into the heroic version of a five man dungeon you must first make your way to honored with a certain faction by completing quests and killing monsters for them. Right now I am honored in Honor Hold and Cenarion Expedition allowing me to purchase keys for a handful of heroic dungeons. I don’t know if my gear is suitable for a heroic dungeon or not but I have listed it here as a goal because I would love the chance to try! Perhaps my guild will give me the opportunity to join them.

Although I have many other goals in mind the proceeding are listed as “high importance”. I hope I finish them all soon!

Guess you have to start somewhere?

I’m a very casual gamer. I have a great job and a wonderful family including two boys who also play WoW. I recently obtained level 70 and noticed that I am very intrigued by WoW end game content.

My professions include mining (250+) and tailoring (350+). I started with tailoring and enchanting but decided to switch to mining instead to hopefully make more gold. This is my first and only level 70 character in WoW so I am always broke unfortunately.

I play the game with my kids a lot and since they have lower level characters I find myself running around the old world helping them with dungeons and quests.

I decided to write about my adventures in this humble little journal and hopefully learn more about the game by recording new things and keeping track of the goals that I hope to complete.
